MENTOR

As a mentor, you will find yourself being a guide, a demonstrator of new skills, and a coach reinforcing positive accomplishments. You have the opportunity to encourage and guide a mentee in a direction that will enhance their career.

MENTEE

As a mentee, you'll benefit from guidance, skill demonstrations, and coaching, celebrating your successes along the way. Your mentorship journey offers a chance to refine your career path under their guidance.

Mentors and mentees are matched based on needs, skills, and experiences. They apply by filling out an application form, which the iCIO Committee will review to confirm eligibility.

Committee of iCIO Community will collate and review the pool of potential applicants and validate that everyone who applied is eligible to participate. The validation process may include checking in with advisors or requested mentors. The goal is to match individuals based on their indicated preferences.

It is recommended that you talk with your leaders about any specific goals or skills you want to focus on in your mentoring relationship.  

Yes. The application form will include a space for you to request a specific mentor if you have someone in mind. Committee of iCIO Community will make every effort to honor these requests but cannot make any guarantees. 

You should plan to meet at least six times (once per month) throughout the duration of the program. However, if you both want to meet more frequently, you are welcome to do so. 
It is up to each mentoring pair to determine what works best for them, considering hybrid and remote work schedules.

1. Strive for alignment of mentee interests and requests with mentor strengths and offers.
2. Strive for cross-organizational.
3. Ensure that mentor and mentee pairings are not on the same team. 
4. Accommodate specific requests (e.g., for a specific mentor or topic). 
5. Strive to pair mentors and mentees to provide fresh perspectives
